The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health(PMNCH)hosted and administered by the World Health Organization (WHO), is the leading global alliance of over 700 public and private organizations in 77 countries dedicated to improve women’s and children’s health.

Opportunity

Position PMNCH and the WHO with leaders of various industry sectors to trigger new collaborations and sustainable solutions for women’s and children’s health, creating both social and economic impact. At the 2013 World Economic Forum, GD convened, together with co-hosts, a high-profile strategic event hosted by PMNCH, the UN Foundation, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and the UN Secretary General’s Innovation Working Group. Among other leaders, in attendance were the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, CEO of Unilever Paul Polman, Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg and CEO of the UN Foundation Kathy Calvin. The event focused on sustainable ways businesses can drive cross-sector, multi-stakeholder efforts to accelerate the progress of the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
